Growing Roll, Behaviour Plan, BOT Election and Marae Visit

Posted by Emily on 23/05/2013

Kia ora, Tuesday afternoon at soccer is one of my favourite times of the week. It is great to watch our tamariki play and to have a chin-wag with parents. One lovely parent congratulated me this week on our awesome school, in particular our roll growth. Our roll is 167, when we hit 176 tamariki and hold for two weeks we get another teacher (far out!!). Although it was lovely to hear, I had to say it is about the whole school community. So, congratulations and thank you for making a difference at our school. ‘We Rise Above and Shine’ with your positive attitude and contribution.

Our new behaviour plan is included in our newsletter. Check it out. It includes information we have gleaned from the professional development we have attended this year. Have a chat to your tamariki about it. We will be focusing on this plan in our classrooms and at assembly.

Its time to vote!! The BOT election is underway with seven outstanding parents nominated. A locked box is in the office for you to cast your vote. Congratulations to Alex Heremaia, our staff representative on the Board.

On Monday, the whole school will visit our Community Marae. Whaea Liana is responding to the karanga (calling) and her husband, Matua Mark will be a speaker alongside Phil Gurnick for Waihi East School. Come and join in the learning with us.

Ka kite
