Kia ora, this week we are sending home information about how we will report on our student’s achievement. Year Books will be sent home twice a year. In the first 3 years at school, Year Books will come home every 6 months of schooling. In Years 4-6, Year Books will be sent home at the end of term 2 and 4. Year Books will focus on children's actual samples and be a learning journal of their achievements.

Come along this weekend and support our Pit Rim Run/Walk-either as a participant or helper. We are selling sausages, fizzy and water. All funds raised from this event will go towards our planned edible garden.

Congratulations to the team of 14 students who represented Waihi East School at the local swimming sports. Blake, Jodi and Gemma will now go forward to the Northern zone swimming competition. Our school swimming season is coming to a close. The pool closes on Friday the 25th of March. If you are a pool key holder, please return your key to the office after this date to receive your $5 ….

Last week Phil took a team to Whangamata to play ripper. Seven games were played and our team won all of these. What an awesome effort.

Our Waka groups are having a very positive effect on friendships, leadership , care and respect of our school. To date whero (red) has cleaned up on all competitions. The school waits with baited breath at assembly on Monday to hear which waka has won the weekly points. This week I have focused on people making good choices in the playground, people showing respect to others and those people who choose to pick up litter. You may like to find out how many points your child has been receiving.
