Kia ora, on Saturday I was very proud to watch our Fun Ferns have two excellent games. After a very tricky start and a few tears, our girls started to get the gist of the game. Boy, the smiles were as wide as banana’s. Such awesome development in such a few weeks. There are a few people to thank-Jackie Peet (Riley’s Grandma) who stays on the court teaching positions, Vivienne (coach), Peter and Natasha (coaches) and Emma, Tova, Michelle, Paula, Donna and senior students who help train the girls twice a week and get them ready for their weekly games. Our older girls are having a good season under the great coaching of Donna and Sharon. They too are supported by Sandi and Steve. Thanks to all other coaches and supporters of winter sport.
We have up dated the school calendar. Check out our events using the www.waihieast.school.nz site. With so much happening with Matariki, we have moved a few activities around. Most notable is moving production and junior school interviews into term 3.
With the cross country track being very wet underfoot, our cross country was postponed to Tuesday 7th June. Thank you to the parents who have agreed to help out on the day. The College is having a teacher only day on the 7th so hopefully a few students will come and be marshals around the track.
Thanks for your support.
