Kia ora, come along to Waihi College tonight to see our students ‘ Rise Above and Shine’. Each class is presenting a Myth or Legend. The first performance is at 7pm with Room Three. I would like to thank the many parents and caregivers who have supported classes with our performance. Thank you for sharing your skills and enthusiasm with the school.
Recycling and waste management is currently being reviewed by Mr Couch. One initiative that will soon be underway is a food scraps bin to collect all food waste. Crackling, our school pig has been purchased and is about to start living at Mr. and Mrs. Steele’s house. Our food scraps will feed Crackling. After Prize Giving at the end of the year, kai will be shared with Crackling spit roasted as part of our school celebration.
This term we welcome Lisa Rutherford to our Team. Lisa is our newly appointed teacher aide working with a selection of students. Lisa joins our existing teacher aides - Peter, Dianne, Leann and Sharon.
Most winter sports are coming to a close. It has been a great season for our teams and I look forward to hearing the results of Prize Giving. A huge thank you to the many coaches who have helped develop our childrens’ talents. Thank you for the lunchtime and after school practices and the support during games. Particular thanks to Sharon and Shona for their input into netball, especially as they do not have children playing the sports they support.
