Kia ora, congratulations to our amazing learning community for the Myths and Legends production last week. Children, staff and caregivers worked hard together to ‘Rise Above and Shine’. Our production showcased some of the learning opportunities our students have developed in the classroom. It was with joy to hear the beautiful pronunciation of Te Reo, the haka and poi, the songs of relevance. Please help keep this learning alive. Keep coming to school to support teachers and class programmes with their Maori language and tikanga activities. This will allow for our rich new approach to remain across the school and taught in many curriculum areas. Thank you for your positive feed back and support. A DVD of our show will be available from Monday at a cost of $5 per DVD. Please place money and orders in the money tin in the office.
Our Saturday morning netball and rugby teams had awesome results for the season. Congratulations to the East Stars on winning 3 trophies, East Comets for winning 1 trophy and lastly Waihi Rugby Club Grade 8 for winning their division. Particular thanks to our coaches for your dedication and skill development of our children.
A large group of students attended the Waihi Sevens on Wednesday. Congratulations to our netball team-Runners Up, soccer and rugby teams. Phil and Steve took a League team to Tauranga, with good results. Special thanks to our coaches: Howard, Sharon and Robbie, and the many parent supporters for making these events possible.
Tomorrow is a Big Breakfast Day. Staff will be serving our Learning Community hot cakes with syrup, cereal and hot milo from 8.20am. Come along and enjoy some kai together.
