Kia ora,

Firstly I would like to formally acknowledge the full team of Waihi East students who were selected to represent the Waihi Schools Cluster at tomorrow’s Northern Zone Swimming Sports. Congratulations to Blake, Gemma, Amy, Renee, Dylan B, Jodi, Josh T, Aiden R and Paris P. I would like to apologize for not announcing the full team last week, a nana moment and I have learnt a good lesson-always check the details!

Our hair cuts for Christchurch are in full swing. Please let us know if you would like Delwyn to cut your child’s hair for $5.00 . Some very stylish students have sharp cuts care of Delwyn from Diamonds on Seddon. Monika’s Trade Me auction raised $20. Our students have raised over $200 for the Christchurch appeal.

Our pool modernization is set to go ahead next month– new concrete area, shade sail, toilet facilities and resurfacing of the pool. Matt Walker Builders were the only company that responded to our tender and as such the Ministry of Education have asked them to undertake the work. The pool area will look great and be a better facility for our community.

Lastly a huge thank you to the school community for your support in last weekends Pit Rim Fun Run/Walk. Our support group yet again did us proud as did our smiling whanau on the day. Over $1200 has been raised for our edible sun shine garden. Michelle Tai, our garden Chairperson has received a number of donations for our school gardens. Let her know if you have contacts that may be willing to support us.

Check out our 'Waka Points Totals' from a convenient 'Livebinder' on the home page in the lower left footer area, below you can see the folder on this page as an example, just click on it to find graphs showing the latest 'Waka Points for the Term' and there are 'Waka Weekly Totals' in graph form too.
